4.8Excellent55 reviewsSaw Dr. Seo and a very professional dental hygienist, I believe her name is Sydney, who was new to me. She was very thorough in her cleaning and recommended I also use Soft-Picks to remove plaque.I usually have dental anxiety and don’t like having any kind of procedure done, but post street dental and Dr Seo completely changed my mind! Dr Seo addressed any questions and concerns I had in an informative and professional manner. He and his dental assistant were amazing for the whole procedure. Everything was so gentle, but exactly what I needed. What I really love about my new dental office, and Dr Seo specifically, is that he doesn’t recommend work being done just for the sake of it. He told me “if it’s not causing a problem it’s best to leave it alone”, which I completely respect and is exactly what I want. My previous dentist constantly pushed me towards ‘perfecting my smile’ which led to unnecessary work being done. I’m VERY happy with my new practice and love being a patient of Dr. Seo!Post Dental is a great dentist that has not forgotten how to offer outstanding customer service and dental care. Linda in the front office is great at her job and it shows. Post Dental understood my situation and went above the call of duty to make sure my needs were met. My dentist Dr. Seo really made me feel welcome as a new patient. He listened to my concerns respectfully and gave me the VIP treatment and squeezing me into his tight schedule. The whole Post Dental Team is a well oiled machine and they all work well together which allows them to provide top notch dental care to their patients. It was so refreshing after being treated so badly at my previous dentist. Thanks Post Dental, you cared about me and it showed by my care I received last week. 🙏🏻👏😁☮️Excellent dental work, efficient, accommodating schedule, friendly staff.Dr. Seo. Gentle and thorough, he takes all the dread out of a trip to the dentist.Nice office, friendly staff, competent and warm dentist. First time here but so far so good!Great experiences! The new equipments make cleaning the teeth process very clean and efficient. Digital X-Ray was taken without any pain when biting down the X-Ray film.I have been going to Post Street Dental since 1997. It has been a 100% positive experience the whole time and I don't know what I'd do without them! Dr. Kohn retired last year, but I'm so happy that Dr. Seo and Justin are still there! Everyone in the office is awesome at what they do, and the equipment and environment are first rate! I couldn't recommend them more highly!Dr. Seo is the greatest, so thorough and so gentle. It doesn't get better.Great dentist. He willing accommodates your needs. This was my first first visit. Their process enrolling me was seamless and the staff was helpful and very courteous! Left the office feeling confident of the plan discussed.Always a pleasure to see Dr. Seo. He’s kind, gentle and always does great work!Very pleasant first visit. Minimum of fuss and down time.Very nice professional experience First time I ever had my teeth cleaned by a dentist rather than a dental hygienist. Dr. Abrolat was very gentle and personable. Look forward to my next appointment.Just had another wonderful experience, their hygienists are always gentle and Dr. Abrolat helped make sure a filling I got last year was checked out thoroughly. Appreciate her attention to detail!Dr. Seo is the best!! He is kind, gentle and a great sense of humor. I always know I’m going to get the best care. I highly recommend Dr. Seo⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Excellent service and work. Explains what he is going to do and asks for any questions. RecommendDr. Seo is kind and thorough. He has great energy and attentiveness, making it so easy to want to come back. I love going to the dentist! I feel very comfortable under his care, and my teeth always feel so clean afterwards. Plus his staff make scheduling visits really easy.As always, Dr. Seo was pleasant, professional and punctual … practically perfect! GeoThis was my first time at this office (my former dentist recently sold his practice to the Post Street Dental Group). Seems to be pretty good, but time will tell.I have been a customer of Post Street Dental and Dr. Seo’s for years. I have had multiple cleanings and procedures over the years. The team and Dr. Seo are professional, gentle, and attentive. Their work is top notch and offices are modern and comfortable. I can’t recommend them and Dr. Seo enough!!Second time here today and I highly recommend Justin's meticulous cleaning. As a relatively new patient it good to see the practice really takes care of the patient, and doesn't upsell unnecessary treatment.Dr Sao is one of the best dentists I have ever had. He communicates in a confident and friendly manner explaining each step as the procedure takes place. Great choice for anyone looking for a reduced stress visit to the dentist. I strongly recommend him.I don't usually take the time to give reviews, but I get such excellent care at Post St. Dental I wanted to share that with everyone. I have super sensitive teeth, and even a cleaning is an ordeal. Dr. Seo has worked with me over the years and learned just how to take care of my issues, and give me a pain free experience. I really appreciate him and the staff and can heartily recommend them to any new patients. Sincerely, Lawrence DillonGreat service. The doctor is very patient and do a great job.The replacement of a missing crown in my upper jaw seems completely successful after one day. A crown in my lower jaw, which was becoming more sensitive to pressure from extra use while the upper crown was missing, is returning to normal. Thanks for your professional care.Dr Seo is awesome. Very attentive, puts you at ease and is happy to answer any questions you might have. He is always pleasant and really helps relax you. Highly recommend.I have been seeing Dr. Seo for the last several years since he joined the group. Dr. Seo is very professional, easy to understand during explanations, always friendly and just a great dentist! If you are looking for a new dentist I would definitely recommend him very highly!Very detail oriented dentist but the ceiling needs a patch. I like that they have a very accommodating schedule due to the size of the teamMy experience at Dr. SEO office couldn’t be any more pleasant and efficient .. I was in and out in no time …replaced two fillings no pain whatsoever or discomfort. As long as I’ve been going to Post Street dental I have nothing but great things to say about them and great experiences about 30 yearsI have received my dental care from several dentists in this practice for over 30 years. My dentist now is Dr. Sellen Seo. I consider myself fortunate to be in his care. He is an excellent clinician who treats me professionally and respectfully. He is a warm and caring person as well and shows genuine interest in how I have been since my last visit. The other staff are also top notch. I highly recommend Post Street Dental and especially Dr. Seo.Made me feel welcome Gave timely service Knowledgeable physician & kind staffBeen to a few dentist in SF and this is my absolute fav. They are thoughtful, answer all your questions and I don’t feel upsold. My first appointment with Dr. Seo. He was very receptive and professional and conducted a thorough cleaning process. I will continue to use Dr. Seo for my dental needs going forward.Very positive visits. Friendly, professional, and takes the time to explain and answer any questionsDr. Seo is an excellent dentist who used an artistic touch to address a small chip on the face of my front tooth. Absolutely invisible to the eye now. Greatly appreciated his measured approach and description as he walked me through the entire process. Highly recommended! As usual, a great trip. Seamless cleaning and x-rays. And Dr. Sellan Seo is fantastic.Only positive things to say. Dr Seo is very knowledgeable, experienced and caring. Couldn’t ask for a better dentistThe team at Post Street Dental is phenomenal! From making the appointment to the follow up check-in, a very thoughtful and caring dental office. Superb Experience, and thank you.Dr Seo is always friendly, efficient, methodical, and gentle. Makes going to the dentist a breeze. The office is also well organized and efficientTL;DR - Warm, comfortable, fast, efficient service from start to finish from ALL staff! Easy text communication. I recommend this office for basic/routine dentistry, but (in my case) would have gone to someone else with wisdom tooth extraction experience. They can provide a helpful breakdown of estimated costs and coverage. I really hate going to the dentist, but this office made every effort to offer the best, most comfortable experience and service from start to finish. I had a tooth ache from a wisdom tooth that was desperate to come out. So I found this office through my insurance portal, filled out the online form on the practice website to request an appointment, and was quickly contacted shortly after their office opened the next day. All communications happened via text which was easy and efficient. They were able to get me in for an appointment two days later which I feel is pretty fast, considering availability is hard to come by, especially at the end of the year. When I arrived, I was greeted and helped immediately. The ambiance is nice, simple, and comfortable. They text you a link to fill out your new patient info to lessen the paperwork you have to do in person. I still had some consent forms and more detailed health history to fill out when I arrived. Then I was immediately taken back for images and x-rays. Everything happened very fast. The assistant helping with this was kind and gentle. Then, Dr. Seo did his examination. He was absolutely wonderful - very warm, patient, kind, and resourceful. He answered all questions enthusiastically, walked me through my scans and photos, and offered helpful advice. I have been cheated into paying for unnecessary procedures by previous dentists, so I REALLY appreciated how Dr. Seo reassured me that he only recommends "needed" procedures - emphasis on "need". Super comforting. The only downside is that he is not a specialist, so he couldn't advise on (or conduct) wisdom teeth extraction and had to refer me elsewhere. So if you're coming in for that, then depending on your insurance, I recommend seeing another general dentist or oral surgeon who can do the consult and then the teeth extractions instead of jumping from dentist to dentist. Dr. Seo referred me to Dr. Young who is in a separate but co-owned practice upstairs (review to come). After that, the dental hygienist, Justin, cleaned my teeth. He (and Dr. Seo) also recommended a deeper cleaning which my insurance would not have covered, but overall, I didn't feel pressured to do anything (a common issue in private practices). Overall, Justin was wonderful as well! Again, very kind, patient, knowledgeable, and gentle. I could tell he was doing a thorough job with the cleaning, checking in with me now and then. He gave me some freebies (floss, toothbrush, toothpaste). He also provided helpful advice that was consistent with what Dr. Seo mentioned. The front desk staff member showed me my estimated costs. Billing is always a frustrating process, especially with unexpected expenses, but they break it down for you in an organized way. Feel free to ask about estimates ahead of time if you are worried about coverage. Overall, the staff here are great and I highly recommend coming here for all of your general, more routine dental needs!I've been coming here for 20 years, since it was with Dr Barrera. Loved the staff as well but Dr Kohn had to suddenly leave the practice for health reasons. Bummer.Dr. Kohn and his staff are wonderful, compassionate professionals. He explains everything as he's doing it, from a simple exam to more involved procedures like crowns. I've been his patient for a little over a year and am so pleased. The hygienist is excellent as well, very gentle. (My previous dentist just poked away and said little.) Lovely office, lovely caring people.Dr. Kohn, Dr. Seo, Justin, Char and the rest of the staff are top-notch professionals who genuinely care about their patients and take the time to explain your treatment options. I've been a patient for over 15 years and wouldn't think of going anywhere else.Justin did an amazing job cleaning my teeth- very gentle and exceptionally thorough. I also had a filling replaced on the top way last back tooth- which is incredibly hard to reach. Dr. Kohn explained the overall procedure, why it was needed, and told me at each step what I would feel - this definitely made me more relaxed. He was very sensitive and responsive to any discomfort. Char, his assistant, was professional, kind, and attentive. If I have to get dental work done, Dr. Kohn's office is the best place in SF!!!I've been a patient of Post Street Dental since Dr. Kohn was a puppy dentist - 20-25 years ago? Why would I want to go to the same dental office 3 times a year for all these years? 'Cause the staff is the funnest and bestest ever? Very possibly. Mike H.I've been coming to Dr. Kohn for years now, even after I moved to Oakland. You won't find a better dentist. He and Dr. Seo are fantastic to work with and I love his entire staff. I've even been known to fall asleep in the chair when I'm being worked on, they are JUST THAT GOOD! I'll never change dentists unless I have to move out of state or he retires! Not only do you get exemplary, professional care, his staff go out of the way to make you feel comfortable and can assist you with any insurance issues you might have. I've had a lot of work at this office and have never left dissatisfied in any manner.I've been going to Post Street Dental for over 15 years. Wonderful service, great staff. Highly recommend. Dr Kohn, Char and Jason are the best in the business.Super friendly staff and wonderful, courteous doctor who explained everything thoroughly. Five fillings, zero pain, all in about one hour! Thank you Doctor Kohn! Many years ago - around 25 years? - when Dr. Kohn had just recently graduated from the UCSF School of Dentistry - LOL, when I first "established a relationship" with Post St Dental, I used to feel that having to go to the dentist was my least favorite ordeal in my life. I stopped feeling that way about 24 years ago. A good word I use to describe it these days is "pleasant". The entire staff is super friendly, personable, professional, knowledgeable, and always FUN to visit. I'm sure that PSD is the bestest dental office in the whole wide world!I have been coming to Dr. Kohn for over 12 years now and wouldn't dream of going to any other dentist. I still continue to see him despite living in Oakland now. His office staff is superb in every way. I actually fall asleep during my examinations and have even fallen asleep during a filling, Dr. Kohn is that good!Post St. Dental is a fantastic place to have your dental needs well taken care of. Super staff. Very professional and friendly!I've only been a patient of Dr. Kohn's and the Post St Dental staff for ... ummm ... about 25 years, if not even more, and yes, they ARE ALL the BEST! No way I would've stuck with them all this time if they weren't. And now as a senior citizen, my mouthful of teeth - most my originals along with a few "works of art" - is still in great shape.Once again, I had a wonderful visit to Post st Dental with Dr George Kohn. I fly up from LA to see him & his wonderful staff. About 7 yrs ago, I had a bad accident & knocked out my front tooth & the tooth next to it. 5 other dentists all wanted to pull what remained of my teeth. But Dr Kohn said, "The more of your natural teeth we can save, the better for the over all health of your mouth." SOLD!!! He totally restored my beautiful smile! & I get compliments on my smile, even in LA!!!!I can easily say that Dr Kohn is the best dentist I have ever been to. Whenever I have gotten cleanings done by other dentists, I would count the seconds until I was allowed to leave. With Dr Kohn today, I was so comfortable during the whole process that I almost fell asleep! I couldn't recommend him more.I have been looking for years for a good dental office and from the time I walked through the front door speaking with the reception to the dentist and back I have had nothing but a positive experience. I felt so comfortable, and excited to see them on my next visit. I live in the south bay of San Jose and this office is well worth the drive to visit and experience.Even tho I live across the country, Dr. Kohn is still my dentist. He is passionate about your teeth! Technically he is superb. Beautiful fillings and crowns. Wonderful hygenist, dental assistant, office manager and other dentists who work with him. If you ever felt scared of the dentist and that has kept you from going, just go to Dr. Kohn. Without lectures and judgment, he will get and KEEP your teeth healthy and fabulous. Wish there were more out there like him!Thank You! Thank You! THANK YOU!!!! George Kohn DDS, & Good & Sears Orthodontists! In Sept 2011 (I know I'm very late in writing this up!) I had an accident & knocked out my front tooth & the one next to it. Severed Below the gum line. I went to 5 different dentists. ALL said I would Have to pull my teeth & get implants. Except for Dr Kohn. He told me that he believes that saving as much of the natural tooth as possible is better for the over all health of the entire mouth. SOLD!!!! He referred me to the wonderful Ortho team of Dr Chad Sears & Dr Phoebe Good. They fitted me with braces, pulled down my roots long enough to attach crowns. & now I have a beautiful smile again! & did I mention that all this dental work was Virtually PAINLESS?!!! They are All So Gentle! Thank You All for putting my shattered smile back together again!!!Dr. Kohn is a gem. He is gentle, caring and skilled. I've been seeing him for over 20 years and have only good experiences to report. His staff are friendly and professional. The office is run well. I highly recommend Post Street Dental and Dr. Kohn!George Kohn has been my dentist for almost 25 years. He cares about each of my teeth as though they were his own. I especially respect that he refers patients to specialists (implants, orthodontia) rather than overreaching professionally to hold on to the work. Lovely, attentive staff.Dr. Khon is my favorite dentist ever. He's kind, thorough, knowledgeable, funny, and doesn't constantly try to upsell you into treatments you don't want or need. Similarly, Justin is the best hygienist I've ever had. He's so sure handed and gentle, I feel completely relaxed during my cleanings. Everyone in the office is friendly and helpful, and my appointments are always on time. I love Post Street Dental.I've been seeing Dr Kohn and hygienist Justin for many years. Very professional and friendly service. Char at the front desk, is also gracious and helpful. Very delighted with their professional services. Highly recommended.Dr. Seo has the best chair side manner! He's super friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. It's like having your best friend as your dentist :)Great dentist knows exactly what I want. Gay friendly. Nice people. The dentist is gentle and is great. I would go to him everyday if I could. In July, I got my first crown from Dr. Kohn and his team. It is every bit as good as the complete tooth that was there before and 4 months later, I'm 100% confident about how it performs. Plus, it matches the color of my other teeth perfectly and it looks beautiful. I'm certain that all this is because Dr. Kohn obsesses about every detail to make sure it's right. The procedure itself was about as painless as can be and once it was installed, it immediately felt like it had been there all along. I always feel comfortable in Dr. Kohn's office because his staff is casual, yet very professional, friendly and engaging. At almost 50 years of age and having lived in 8 cities in 3 countries, I've had enough dentists in my life to know a good one when I've got one. Dr. George Kohn is a great dentist and I whole-heartedly recommend him and his team! This review has been removed for violating our Terms of ServiceDr. Kohn is very personable and always reviews reasons and choices with me. I've developed cold sensitivity lately and they go out of their way to make sure cleanings are not painful for me. The staff who work on my teeth and front office are also great. I've never had a problem in the several years I've been going here. This review has been removed for violating our Terms of ServiceOn a mid-Monday afternoon a few weeks ago, I developed a very painful toothache. I was scheduled to leave for NYC on a flight from SFO at 7:30 am the very next day so I was panicked. Would I need to find a dentist in New York City? Yikes! Time was of the essence so I called Char, the receptionist/office manager at Post Street Dental and she assured me that if I was in pain an endodontist would see me that afternoon. Whew! She referred me to the very best- Union Square Endodontics. I called there at about 3:00 pm and was told to come in immediately. I needed a root canal (yikes again!) and Dr. Machule completed it by 6:30 pm. Thanks to Char's referral and the amazing Dr. Machule, I was able to go back east with peace of mind. When I returned from my trip, Dr. Kohn removed my temporary filling and painlessly replaced it with a permanent one. As I was leaving the office, Char stopped me as she had checked with my insurance carrier, Delta Dental, discovered I had just 60 cents remaining in my annual allotment. She apologized (not necessary) and told me that I'd need to pay out-of-pocked for my upcoming appointments. Although that wasn't good news (and I have excellent dental insurance), she had the presence of mind to give me an alert ahead of time. Here's a shout-out to you, Char and thanks to everyone who works with Dr. Kohn. You make me feel like family.Verified
This review has been removed for violating our Terms of ServiceMoved out of SF a few years ago, but could not let go of Dr. Kohn. He's the full package. Technically great with any and all procedures, but also full of compassion and no judgment. So if you have not been to the dentist in years but realize it is time to go and are totally freaked out, make your re-entry with Dr. Kohn. Plus his office manager Shar is great and will help get you squared away on appointments and insurance. Just a note that their prices are not rock bottom. But you aboslutely get what you pay for. This review has been removed for violating our Terms of ServiceAbout a year ago I was looking for a new dentist and consulted Yelp for advice ^-^ I'm glad I did, it helped me find Dr Kohn. He did my first crown replacing the cap my last dentist had put over a root canal. The whole procedure was relatively painless. I've been back a few times to get my teeth cleaned, and must admit every time I've been my teeth have felt smoother and cleaner than I've ever had them. I'd really recommend his dental practice.I started seeing Dr. Kohn in 1999. Before seeing Dr. Kohn, I was embarrassed about my teeth and disliked immensely going to the dentist. When I first arrived, I was surprised at how enjoyable a trip to the dentist can be. Dr. Kohn is not only very professional but also knowledgeable and considers the overall heath and well being of his patients. I now enjoy going to the dentist and receive complements often on my teeth. George encouraged me and helped facilitate braces and walked me through several years of cleaning out old fillings, increasing my oral health. To be blunt, I lived in Belgium for 6 years, yet still flew back to San Francisco for my 6-month check-up. That is how much I trust and appreciate Dr. Kohn's skills. One more note on his staffing: I have never met a more professional and courteous staff than Dr. Kohn's team. For many years, I have been treated by Shar and she has always been professional, kind and made me feel very comfortable. For 15 years, I have never experienced any issues with my insurance and have been treated with the utmost respect and handling of all claims. The team is highly professional and I trust them greatly. I have recommended Dr. Kohn to several friends and family members and will continue to do so. It is extremely rare to find a dentist that makes you feel comfortable and confident: period. For the last 18 years, Dr. George Kohn has been my dentist. As a result, I have beautiful, healthy teeth ! I live in New York now but come back to San Francisco twice a year to see Dr. Kohn. Dr. Kohn is the most conscientious dentist you will find. He loves what he does and has a sincere passion for his profession. His approach with his patients is one of complete assessment of your needs and a plan to address them ... both immediate and long range. He gives you options and is happy to work within your insurance boundaries. He makes you an active participant in your dental care. Dr. Kohn's dental assistants are very capable, skilled professionals, many of whom have worked with him for years. I have always felt like I was in good hands. Post Street Dental's office is comfortable and welcoming. Obviously, I highly recommend Dr. George Kohn and Post Street Dental. I look forward to many more years of a healthy mouth and a smile I am proud of.This review has been removed for violating our Terms of ServiceThis review has been removed for violating our Terms of ServiceI met Dr. Kohn for the first time when he was a new dentist with such fervor for his profession that he came into the office for me before it opened. I had a toothache and after an examination I remember chatting with him as we stood by a window in the treatment room in 1989. Listening to his words of encouragement, he became "my dentist" on that day. From a time of being insecure with my smile, his caring attitude and good care over the many years have made that become all but a memory. He is a professional, but that does not get in the way of his being personable and caring. Coming from a place of not really wanting to go to a dentist in the past.to now actually looking forward to seeing Dr.George, I encourage anyone who reads this to give him a try. You will probably share my sentiments. Since that first day in 1989 until the present, I continue to be the recipient of his good care, By the way, the entire group of people who work with Dr. Kohn: his front desk manager/receptionist, hygienist, dental technicinas and colleague, Dr. Witt all add to the reason to go here. This review has been removed for violating our Terms of ServiceI've been a patient of George's before he was a dentist! Little known fact - George worked in a neighborhood dental clinic as a hygienist before he got his DDS. Over the years, George has taken me through countless dental adventures, including getting me to an oral surgeon STAT for wisdom teeth removal, an endodontist STAT when I needed an emergency root canal, and helping me preserve my four front teeth after a bad bicycle accident. That's in addition to years of normal, preventative care - check-ups and cleanings. Dr. Barry Witt is a relatively recent addition to the office, but has been great to see as well. Never, never, never a problem or an experience that wasn't the best in dental care. No pain ever, including when giving ultra-scary palatal injections. I wanted to mention the professionalism of this office as well. The former office manager, Michael, spent hours and hours on the phone with me and my insurance company after my accident helping get the claims paid. This was not easy, because dental insurance will say that medical insurance should pay for everything, while medical insurance will say that dental insurance should pay for everything. Extremely frustrating for the insured, and without Michael's help, I probably would have lost out on a significant portion of the insurance payment I was entitled to. Alas, Michael moved away a few years ago, but his replacement, Michelle, appears to be running the office as exceptionally well and capably as Michael did. We patients work with the office managers a lot and it is really great when they are as capable as they are in this office. Great office, like others here have said, they make going to the dentist an enjoyable experience.I have been a patient at this Dental office since the mid 80's. Previously a client of Dr Richard Barrera's and now Dr George Kohn's - I had extensive work in the early years and can now say that I have generally 'healthy' teeth (in no small way due to Barerra and Kohn's exquisite, sensitive and sensible care). George never pushes anything on me and always involves my clear understanding and opinion in the equation for decision-making. Care is delivered with cost consciousness in mind. This dental office is exemplary and gives the highest standard of care and great referrals when needed for associated care. The whole office staff are great people and I look forward to seeing them every 3 months or so for cleanings. The are now almost like 'family' to me. Thank you Post St Dental ......you truly are 'keepers' in my book!!Thank You! Thank You!! THANK YOU!!! Dr. George Kohn, Dr. Chad Sears & Dr. Phoebe Good!!!! In Sept 2011, I had an accident, fell face down (NO drugs or alcohol involved!) & knocked out my front tooth & the tooth next to it! Severed below the gum line! I went to 5 different dentists who all said that I HAD to pull the teeth & get implants. Dr Kohn said that he believes that saving as much of the natural tooth as possible is better for the health of the entire mouth. SOLD!!!! He referred me to Orthodontists Drs Good & Sears. They pulled the roots down far enough to give surface area to attach crowns, & Dr Kohn did an AMAZING job matching the size, shape & color of my natural teeth, & now I have a beautiful smile again! & did I mention that ALL the dental work was virtually PAINLESS?!!! Thank You All for putting my shattered smile back together again!I have been seeing George for over 20 years now! I love going to this dentist, he is so nice and always friendly. He has a no pain policy, which is the only way I roll! He has done excellent work on me and my husband. When money is tight he never tries to push additional work and is very thoughtful about how much things will cost. The staff are also always nice, it's easy parking in the Bush Street garage and a short walk to his office. I highly recommend his work. I owe my great smile to him!I've been a patient of Dr. Kohn's for about 3 years; and Dr. Barrera's before that. But it's all Post Street Dental, and it's all good because it's quite clear that the entire office shares a level of professionalism, friendliness, and just plain fantasticality [!] that elevates them to the stratosphere in terms of dental care. i just love going in there, seeing everyone, and being treated like a god. I have had everything from routine exams/cleaning to emergency crowns, and have always received the very best of care. [I can honestly say I have never felt one bit of pain while sitting in a chair in this office.] They go out of their way to make you feel comfortable, secure, cared for, and important. Everyone in the city should have Dr. Kohn as their dentist. Every time I leave the office, as I'm going down in the elevator, I think to myself, "God, I love that place. And I really like those people; they do it right." THANK YOU GEORGE AND CREW!This review has been removed for violating our Terms of ServiceI have been a patient at Post Street Dental for almost two years, and have only good things to report. Everyone on the staff is professional and helpful. I am a high-strung patient, and the general atmosphere in the office keeps me calm. I have received all of the care which is appropriate, and feel confident that George has recommended only procedures which are necessary. I see two different people in the office for cleanings, and have received excellent care from both."....wiggle your toes and breath through your nose" I'm a lifer. Been with George for over 10 years. One of the reasons I stay in the city. The best, and i should know after having cavities, crowns, and recently, some aesthetic dentals due to getting my two front teeth knocked out. Sure, if you need some gold grills, get yourself over to Oakland, but for the rest, see George.I've been going to Dr. Kohn for at least 10 years and I wish all my doctors (and their office) were this great. Dr. Kohn and his staff are incredibly skilled, friendly and considerate. They are so skilled and gentle there, I've actually fallen asleep while get a teeth cleaning! And the big plus, they are excellent at handling my insurance. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Kohn and his office. What can I say that others below haven't raved about. Dr.Kohn and everyone in his practise are caring, super professional and friendly. Going there is sort of like the "Cheers" bar; everyone knows your name. Dr. Kohn takes his time to explain everything he is doing and makes sure there is no pain involved. Jason is a terrific as a hygenist who does the cleaning and Michelle is fantastic at the front desk. The only drawback is it is expensive if one is short of funds or doesn't have insurance.Excellent work! After my initial consultation, check and cleaning, I decided to return to have a filling replaced as he recommended. Three hours after having the work done, I was eating dinner, oblivious to the notion that any dental work had been done... no pain, no sensitivity, perfect bite, no rough spots... everything is perfect! What's more, Dr. Kohn and his staff, Michelle and Char, are very friendly and personable. Overall, an excellent experience. I highly recommend Dr. Kohn and Post Street Dental. Is it possible for a dental visit to feel like a pampering spa treatment? YES! Granted I was blessed with some decent chompers, but they know how to treat em. Intelligent, witty, relaxing, fun, comfort, are just some words to describe this amazing place. iPods shuffle through great tunes while they work on your teeth (and I must admit sometimes I get so comfortable I want to nap!). I travel from the East Bay and couldn't imagine it not being worth the trek. Kudos to my usual suspects Michael, Char, Justin, Dr. Witt, and Dr. Kohn.I've been a patient here since 2001 and this is the best dental office I have ever been. I live in Oakland and travel this far because of how great this place is. The folks working here are extremely nice. Dr. Kohn is fun to talk to, yes, he'll stop working so you can get a word in. Justin, who does most of the "dirty work", I see mostly. He is very, very gentle so much so that, at times, I found myself drowsy and almost fell asleep one time while he was scraping away. Michael the office manager and Char "the photographer" (x-rays) and all around assistant are very cool too.I've known Dr. Kohn for many years but went to his mentor and office mate, Dr. Richard Barrera, until he passed away a year ago. Although I was very sad that I would no longer have Dr. Barrera, who was a superb dentist, I was hopeful that Dr. Kohn would fill his shoes. After several appointments, including having some fillings done, I'm delighted to say how pleased I am with Dr. Kohn. He is every bit as gentle, informative, thorough, and careful as was Dr. Barrera - and he has a great sense of humor and way with patients. I look forward to many years with him and would certainly recommend him to anyone looking for a top-notch dentist.I have been going to Dr. Kohn for all my dental care since relocating to San Francisco 8 years ago. My former dentist "catered to cowards" and so does Dr. Kohn! He is fantastic and I don't dread going in for anything! The entire staff has always been helpful, courteous, and willing to assist with any issues that may arise. And his new office is REALLY cool!I've been going to Dr. Kohn's since the mid 90's and I've been very happy with his care and his staff. I highly recommend them.Best dentist I've ever had - I was referred by a friend who's gone to George Kohn for years. Dr. Kohn takes his time to explain, and is extremely thorough on top of being a lovely guy. His office staff is superb: my friends and family couldn't believe it when I told them that not only did I know exactly what my portion of payments were *ahead* of each visit, but Michael the office manager also helped plan out all of my procedures for the year while ensuring that I stayed within my insurance limits.I have been a patient of this dental office since 1988 and George Kohn is as good as a dentist gets. Their dental hygienists are very good and teeth cleaning is done with the latest equipment. I was originally a patient of Richard Barrera but he retired in 2008 (RIP doc) and George has been super. Unlike the experience another reviewer details, the office has always been top notch about filing expense claims with Delta Dental for me. Co-payments are collected up front, but they never amount to much. My partner the dentist-phobe went to a different dentist for the nitrous oxide and we had to maintain a spreadsheet to double check the insurance billings and account balance; I have never had to do that with this office.I became a patient of Dr. Kohn's after a friend's recommendation, and it made me realize how important it is to have a great dentist. Definitely the best I've ever had, and the entire office staff is friendly and efficient. Everyone I've recommended him to has been equally impressed. It is so hard to find great health care providers, I'm glad I found one that relieves me of anxiety. I'd still use his office even if insurance didn't cover it, an additional satisfaction indicator.I really really like my dentist. I know, that's crazy. But George is great, and he hates pain. So, he makes an incredible effort to minimize the amount he inflicts on you. Seriously, he's the best!Load moreVerified by TrustindexTrustindex verified badge is the Universal Symbol of Trust.
